Temperature Changes and Tire Pressure Did you know the weather could be behind your tire trouble? Tires are affected by temperature fluctuations more than you might realize. When temperatures drop suddenly, the air inside your tires contracts, leading to a decrease in pressure. For every 10-degree Fahrenheit drop, your tires can lose about 1 PSI (pound per square inch).
